Wrapbook empowers production finance and accounting teams to achieve success faster with our innovative accounting solutions. Our smart, intuitive platform—designed by top-tier engineers and finance industry experts—makes life easier for production accountants and their teams.

The needs of the production accounting community drive every tool and feature we create. That’s why we regularly explore those needs in our podcast, On Production, hosted by Wrapbook Co-founder Cameron Woodward.

Below, we spotlight a few of the experts who have joined the podcast to share their insights, practical tips, and forecasts for the future of production accounting.

Discover Emily Rice’s The List & Room Tone community

Industry legend Emily Rice is the Co-founder, Owner, Manager, and President of post-production accounting firm Emily Rice & Co, which was established in 2001. Since its inception, the company has expanded to establish offices in New York and LA, handling projects of all sizes worldwide. Their impressive portfolio includes high-profile projects like John Wick: Chapter 4, The Morning Show, and The Hunger Games movies.

Rice is also the creator of The List, now hosted by Wrapbook, which serves as the premier job board for production accounting and finance professionals in the entertainment industry.

Rice sat down with Cameron for an episode of On Production to share her career journey. She discusses how she grew her business, offers advice for aspiring production accountants, and reflects on her motivation for starting The List.

Rice and Cameron also explore the potential of the Slack channel, Room Tone, to transform the production accounting community by creating a supportive environment where members can ask questions and easily connect with their peers

Hear V Gordon discuss the future of production accounting

A common pain point in production accounting is the messy, time-consuming disconnect that can arise between production and accounting teams. V Gordon saw this challenge firsthand early in her career while working in production accounting for a small commercial house. V carried that experience with her when she transitioned to working on production accounting software, which ultimately led her to Wrapbook.

As the current Director of Business Development at Wrapbook, V has played a key role in developing Wrapbook’s trailblazing accounting solution. V joined Cameron for an episode of On Production, where she shared insights on the tools that Wrapbook users love and discussed how the company's development of new features is helping shape the future of production accounting.

V shares that before joining Wrapbook, she often felt that room for creative problem-solving was limited while working for other accounting software companies. With her background in production accounting, she had tons of ideas for improving products and simplifying client workflows. But disjointed software systems that fundamentally separated production and accounting, even if they shared one login, hindered her ability to innovate solutions.

At Wrapbook, V helped build integrated tools that make production accountants' jobs easier by uniting production and accounting software. This integration enables more elegant automation, saving time and reducing manual labor. As she shares in the episode, she’s excited to continue developing even more features to delight Wrapbook clients.

Listen to Rick Rice chat about Wrapbook’s next-gen tech for production accounting

Production accounting technology has evolved in fascinating ways over the past few decades. From handwritten paper ledgers to locally-hosted computer software, cloud-based programs, and now Wrapbook’s next-gen solutions, the tools of the trade are advancing rapidly.

Wrapbook’s Principal Product Manager Rick Rice has witnessed each recent stage of the evolution of production accounting software firsthand. A decade before the debut of QuickBooks, he was guiding hesitant small business owners through the shift from handwritten processes to computer-based accounting. Years later, he supported production accountants in transitioning to cloud-based, online systems. Now, at Wrapbook, he’s shaping the future of production accounting software with a firmly user-centered approach to problem-solving.

Rick brought his perspective to an episode of On Production, in which he discusses key milestones in the development of production accounting software and how Wrapbook’s latest offerings address the needs of today’s production accountants.

Listen to the episode to catch Rick’s thoughts on Wrapbook features like auto-save, the fully keyboard-navigable system, and on his vision for the future of Wrapbook’s software solutions.

Follow along as Liz Blunnie breaks down our production accounting enhancements

Wrapbook is setting the new standard for production finance and accounting teams. A core feature of our platform is its integration of payroll and accounting into a single system. Liz outlines how Wrapbook’s integrated solution creates a seamless experience for clients.
