Key Payroll Accountant
Job description
- Process weekly SAG/ATL payroll.
- Oversee and review weekly BTL and BG payroll, as processed by the team prior to submission for production accountant/controller approval.
- Liaise with labor relations for any contract questions.
- Lead payroll team and handle escalated payroll concerns from cast and crew.
- Mentor and develop payroll team, consisting of payroll accountants, assistant payroll accountants, and clerks.
- Must be willing to stay on for wrap and comfortable with studio/union deliverables (ie Post 60, residuals, tax incentive audit)
- Must be on-site in Pittsburgh, PA. Local preferred, but willing to accept distant hires.
- Must be familiar with Showbiz (SAG only), SmartTime, SmartStart, SmartAccounting
- Strong leadership skills; previous team management experience required.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines as required by weekly payroll.
- Eloquent communicator, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to interpret union contracts and be familiar with SAG, IBT, IATSE, WGA, DGA and non-union payroll.
- Ability to manage team independently, while reporting to key stakeholders within Production and Finance.
