Corporate Accountant - Part Time

Job description

• Oversee corporate accounting operations, which include financial accounting, accounts payable, and weekly payroll for internal corporate staff.

• Partner with Human Resources with the onboarding/off boarding process for freelancers. 

• Handle accounting matters with respect to Independent Contractors and third party vendors.

• Oversee the preparation of periodic company financial statements and the corporate annual report.

• Ensure that financial reports comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.

• Work with the president, COO and the production office for the preparation and review of project budgets and schedules.

• Manage compliance reporting regarding federal/state/and local entities and/or external auditors.

• Prepare and review annual company operating budget.

• Meet with the CEO and COO to review current standing and projections.

• Coordinate the preparation of the corporate tax return, and communicate with CPAs on all tax-related questions and concerns as needed.

• Review monthly cost reports with production accountant for each current project,   (with costs to date, ETCs, and EFCs) and trial balance for internal review and external delivery to clients.  

• Monthly reconciliation/close and analysis corporate company bank accounts. 

• Verify accurate cash flow to ensure cash flows are adequate relative to short- and long-term production activity.

• Participate in monthly finance calls with project clients.

• Manage the revenue cycle including invoicing for services performed and follows up on outstanding invoices.

• Manage all payments to vendors, subcontractors, and independent contractors and post all corresponding database entries.

• Manages vendor database and prepares 1099s at year-end.

• Work with production accountant and monitor projects' overall financial status.

• Consult as needed with production insurance group or completion guarantor.

• Prepare a statement of account showing all income and expenditures for the producer or Production Company and the financiers.

Responsibilities

• Minimum of 5 years experience at a production company, or animation studio preferred

• Computer proficiency in: QuickBooks Online, Excel for corporate accounting, Smart Accounting, Movie Magic Budgeting 

• Ability to effectively multi-task and manage multiple projects at once 

• Effective communicator with a positive attitude. 

• Knowledge of GAAP compliance for financial accounting; 

• Creative and levelheaded problem solver.

• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 

• High levels of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information. 

• Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated. Results-driven.

• Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
